Lawyer: Defense to Insist on Full Acquittal of Ilgar Mammadov
Baku / 13.08.18 / Turan: Despite the easing of punishment for Ilgar Mammadov and replacement of the real term of imprisonment with a conditional one, the defense intends to file a cassation appeal against the decision of the Sheki Court of Appeal. Turan was told about this by his lawyer Fuad Agayev.
"The positive decision is that Ilgar Mammadov is going free. The rest of the court decision is negative, since Ilgar Mammadov is again convicted. That is, the court of appeal recognizes as legitimate the verdict of the court that found him guilty.
Moreover, he was given a probationary period of 2 years, which is no longer part of the punishment that he has served. In any case, we do not agree with this decision and we will file a cassation appeal within a short time," Agayev said. -----06B-
