Baku / 13.08.18 / Turan: Law enforcement agencies reported the elimination of the 5th religious radical in the course of a special operation that was conducted by policemen in the city of Sumgayit on August 10.
According to the official report, the participant of the recent riots in Gyanja, Muraz Rahimov (born in 1989), was eliminated when he committed armed resistance. According to the law enforcement agencies, he planned to kill Imam of Gyanja during the Ashura ceremony, which will be celebrated in September.
The same sources claim that Rahimov was a member of radical religious movements and intended to organize an explosion in the capital in 2012 and was convicted of it.
After participating in the riots in Gyanja on July 10, Rahimov came to the capital and hid in rented apartments.
Over the past period, the special services conducted a series of operations, during which four participants of the riots and those implicated in the attempt on the head of Gyanja Elmar Veliyev were killed. According to these events, 61 people were arrested, and 13 were put on the wanted list.-02D-
