Musabekov: Azerbaijan will not act under someone else’s dictation
The significance of the railway project "North-South" is great not only for Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia, but also for the of the Eurasian continent as a whole, said in an interview with Turan, deputy of Milli Majlis Rasim Musabekov, commenting on the results of the meeting of the Presidents of the three countries in Baku.
He also drew attention to the discussion of the negotiations and the issue of cooperation in the use of energy resources of the Caspian Sea and the sharing of pipelines. According to him, Russia and Iran can participate in the project “Southern Energy Corridor.”
The theme of the Karabakh settlement was the subject of discussions at the bilateral talks with the Russian president.
"We often say that the key to resolving the conflict is in Russia. Although Russia does not hurry to use this key, however, its approach to the issue is very important.
Iran, though not involved in the settlement, also borders with Azerbaijan and Armenia. The conflict zone is adjacent to its borders, and Tehran is interested in the settlement," said Musabekov.
Commenting on the establishment of the Azerbaijani-Russian plant for assembly of planes, Musabekov noted great number of helicopters and airplanes of the Russian production in Azerbaijan.
"We need aviation enterprise to repair them. In Soviet times there was such an enterprise, and on its base can be created a new enterprise intendednot only to the Azerbaijani market, but also the next regions, including Iran and Pakistan," said Musabekov.
The same is true about the new automobile assembly plant of Iranian cars, said Musabekov, making it difficult to assess the economic efficiency of the project. -03B06--
