Baku / 25.04.18 / Turan: The Musavat Party issued a statement condemning the suspension of the activities of independent lawyers recently. The document points out the absence of a fair judicial system in Azerbaijan, in which both judges and prosecutors are representatives of the authorities.
And without that, a small number of independent lawyers have recently been reduced due to unreasonable decisions of the bar association.
The latest cases are the suspension of the lawyers' powers of Asabali Mustafayev and Nemat Kerimli.
According to the authors of the statement, the authorities, while liquidating the independent institute of the Bar, establish full control over the judicial system. "Musavat" demands putting an end to the pressure on lawyers and repealing decisions on suspending the powers of lawyers. .-05D-
