PACE President sees no sense in the work of subcommittee on Karabakh
"I am not a supporter of the activity of the PACE Subcommittee on Nagorno-Karabakh, as there is the OSCE Minsk Group.
This group is engaged in the conflict, and I think it would be right to give it the opportunity to perform its function, and do their job to achieve results," said at a press conference in Strasbourg, PACE President Jean-Claude Mignon, answering the question of the probability of resumption of work of this subcommittee.
He stressed that he expressed his personal opinion, and not the opinion of the PACE; Bureau of the d Committee of Ministers will have to discuss this matter with the delegations of Armenia and Azerbaijan. "If the Bureau decides to continue the work of the Subcommittee, then it will be so," said Mignon.
At the same time, he admitted that the Minsk Group should operate efficiently and be more rapid, but there is no need to duplicate the same functions of different structures, he added. -06В-
