Protesters in Front of French Embassy Demand Cancellation of Senate Resolution on Karabakh
Baku /26.11.20 / Turan: On November 26, at 12 o'clock, a protest action was held in front of the French Embassy in Baku against the resolution adopted by the French Senate on the recommendation to the government to recognize the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Several dozen people chanted: "France, be fair!", "France, respect international law!"
The protesters read out their resolution on behalf of 40 Azerbaijani NGOs and handed it over to a representative of the embassy.
The document condemns the resolution of the French Senate, which is qualified as "aggression against international law and an act of corruption."
The document notes that the Senate resolution was adopted in response to the peace agreement on the cessation of hostilities on November 9 and is aimed at fomenting war, and the interests of France were sacrificed to the Armenian lobby.
The resolution of the action condemned the actions of the Senate as infringing on the sovereignty of Azerbaijan, and demanded to annul the decision of the Senate, as contrary to international law.
The protesters also called for abandoning the mediating mission of France in the OSCE Minsk Group, recalling the Azerbaijani Ambassador from Paris and suspending diplomatic relations with Paris, as well as terminating the activities of the Azerbaijani-French parliamentary group until the Senate resolution is canceled. —0-
