Putin to Hold Meeting with Aliyev and Sargsyan in Late June
The tripartite summit of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement is scheduled for the end of June in St. Petersburg, a source in the Russian Foreign Ministry told RIA Novosti.
"The meeting of the Presidents of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia will take place in St. Petersburg, scheduled for the end of June," said the agency.
Previously, information about the possibility of a trilateral summit appeared on the Foreign Ministry website. In particular, it was reported that the preparations for this meeting were discussed by the State Secretary, Deputy Foreign Minister Grigory Karasin and the Ambassador of France to Russia Jean-Maurice Ripert.
In Vienna on May 16, a first meeting of the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Armenia since the early deterioration of the situation in Karabakh was held with the participation of the Foreign Ministers of the countries co-chairing the OSCE Minsk Group (US, Russia and France). The statement on the results of the Vienna meeting underscored the need to follow the truce, the importance of establishing mechanisms to investigate ceasefire violations, the expansion of the administration of the Personal Representative of the OSCE Chairman, as well as the possibility of the resumption of negotiations to resolve the conflict in the near future. -02D-
