Rally of Azerbaijani political emigrants in Strasbourg
Baku / 15.11.19 / Turan: Activists of the movement of Azerbaijani political emigrants in Europe AND on November 15 held a protest rally in front of the republic’s representation in the Council of Europe in Strasbourg.
They read out a picket resolution containing a demand “to stop the increasing repression in Azerbaijan,” which is expressed in the “harassment, arrests, and torture of even opposition leaders.”
Political emigrants also demanded that Azerbaijan comply with its obligations to the Council of Europe.
In addition, the protesters called on the Azerbaijani authorities to determine the legal framework for free political activity in Azerbaijan, including unconditional guarantee of freedom of assembly.
It also requires the provision of freedom of speech, expression, and information. –06В--
