Relatives of oppositionists accused of drug business?

The brother and cousin of the journalist Natig Adilov, spokesman for the Popular Front Party, have been kept in the police department of Sabirabad since yesterday. Murad and Sabuhi Adilov were called to the police in the morning of 27 February, and have not been released yet. No formal accusation has been put forward against them yet, Natig Adilov told Turan at noon on February 28.

The journalist went to the police of Sabirabad this morning to try to find out the reasons for the detention of his relatives.

"My brothers were detained because of me, but they are not guilty of anything. The authorities have continued their policy of blackmail and pressure on the relatives and families of the opposition activists," said the reporter.

Natig Adilov confirmed that on March 10 a district meeting of the PFPA activists was planned at his father's house in the village Khalfali. The decision was taken last Sunday.

"Calling my close relatives to the police, the authorities are trying to order them to put pressure on me and disrupt the conference," said Adilov.

In turn, the police chief of Sabirabad, Mubariz Guliyev said that Murad and Sabuhi Adilov were detained during an operation to combat drugs. -03B-
