The Fourth Meeting of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS) took place in the Turkish city of Bodrum on 5 June. The meeting was attended by President Ilham Aliyev (Azerbaijan), Nursultan Nazarbayev ( Kazakhstan ), Atambayev ( Kyrgyzystan ) , Abdullah Gul (Turkey), and Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov (Turkmenistan.) Berdymukhamedov previously ignored these meetings and his arrival observers called an event. One-day summit will result in signing the joint declaration.
The day before, on Wednesday, Turkish President Abdullah Gul held an informal dinner in honor of heads of states in Bodrum.
Previously the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzystan reported that the meeting is scheduled to consider the documents relating to the activities of the Turkic Academy (Astana) and the Foundation of Turkic culture and heritage (Baku.) In addition, the partnership CCTS in education, tourism , transport, expansion of customs cooperation with international organizations will be discussed. Within the frameworks of the initiative of Kyrgyzstan will be heard information on the preparation for the "First International Games nomads" in Issyk-Kul in September this year.
Secretary General of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking States Halil Akinci said that Bodrum summit will adopt historical solution for the Turkic world: the establishment of centers to strengthen Diaspora of the Turkic-speaking countries in the international arena and expand their sphere of influence, further development of joint strategies , education economic cooperation and the establishment of a joint Turk television will be discussed. Moreover, in Washington, Paris and Berlin will open regional centers.
The Turkic Council was established at the initiative of Turkey in October 2009 , at the summit of the Turkic states in Nakhchivan (Azerbaijan.) Then the head of Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan , Azerbaijan and Turkey signed the Declaration and the Nakhchivan Agreement on the Establishment of the Council of Turkic Speaking States (CCTS), marked the beginning of the organization.
The first summit of the Turkic-Speaking Countries Cooperation Council was held in Kazakhstan in 2011, the second in Kyrgyzstan - in 2012 , the third in Azerbaijan - in 2013. Prior to this meeting took place at the summit of Turkic states.
First Steps to the interaction of the Turkic states emerged after the collapse of the USSR. In October 1992, in Ankara hosted the first summit of the Turkic countries on Turkey's initiative. Then it was attended by the heads of all the post-Soviet Turkic states , including the President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov, who later, after complications with other Turkic states refused to participate in the summits. A total of more than 10 such summits of Heads of States were held.
The total population of the five members of the Bodrum summit is 108 million people. Domestic commodity turnover between the Turkic-speaking countries exceeds $ 1 trillion. —0--
