The Azerbaijani-Georgian consultations in Berlin
The German-Azerbaijani political consultations took place in Berlin, The Delegation of Azerbaijan was headed by the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Khalaf Khalafov. The Azerbaijani side emphasized the need to enhance the OSCE's efforts to resolve the Karabakh conflict, taking into account the current German presidency in this organization.
According to the Foreign Ministry press service of Azerbaijan, meetings with the special representative of the German Foreign Ministry, Andreas Peschke, and the Administration of the Federal Chancellor Knut Abraham took place.
The sides exchanged views on the current state and prospects of bilateral relations, the place and role of Azerbaijan in the region, the possible contribution of Germany in the settlement of the Karabakh conflict, the situation in the Caspian basin, regional issues, and other topics of mutual interest.
Khalafov said that Azerbaijan is interested in expanding cooperation with German companies and hopes that Germany, as the OSCE chairman, will play an even more active role in resolving the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.
He also emphasized the role of Azerbaijan in the formation of transport corridors East-West and North-South cooperation and reforms to modernize the country's economy. The representatives of the German Government pointed out that Azerbaijan is an important political and economic partner of Germany in the region, praised the efforts of Azerbaijan for the coordination and development of transport and communication hubs between Asia and Europe.-06D-

On October 10, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree allowing Georgian citizens to enter Russia for work or for a period of up to 90 days without a visa.
