The head of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev confirmed the Action Plan related to the 27th anniversary of the January tragedy. In particular, it is supposed to hold nationwide conferences, meetings and lectures in connection with the events of 20 January, the show plays, films and documentaries, coverage of these events in the media. In all educational institutions of the country will be held a special lesson on the tragedy, and the main religious confessions of the country will hold a religious ceremony to commemorate the victims of the tragedy. According to the longstanding tradition, on January 20, 2017 the inhabitants of the country will visit the Alley of Martyrs. On this day at 12 am will be a moment of silence honored the memory of martyrs throughout the country, beeps from ships, cars and trains, national flagswill be lowered. On February 6, 2025, the Khatai District Court of Baku decided to place journalist Shahnaz Beylyargizi under arrest for three months and 15 days.
