The U.S. Armenian Diaspora Damages the Peace Process
The U. S. state of Maine, following the lead of another U.S. state, Rhode Island, passed a resolution calling for recognition of the “independence of Nagorno-Karabakh.” These appeals will not have any results, and the legal consequences are unlikely to contribute to the peaceful settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict, said Elmar Mammadyarov, Azerbaijan’s Foreign Minister.
"I understand that the Armenian Diaspora of America is behind it. By such actions, they want to form an opinion, that someone recognizes the independence of Nagorno-Karabakh. On the other hand, they need to understand that such actions are contrary to the peace process and do not contribute to it. I do not think that such actions will have any results," Mammadyarov said. --03B06--
