The US supports the development of "green energy" in Azerbaijan
Baku/04.04.23/Turan: The United States is ready to support Azerbaijan in the development of "green energy", the US Assistant Secretary of Commerce Arun Venkataraman stated attoday's briefing in Baku.
According to him, the latest technologies are needed in the process of decarbonization, and the United States will support American companies ready to share them with Azerbaijan. Venkataraman stressed the importance of expanding bilateral cooperation in this area.
"Despite the fact that natural gas retains an important role, the development of renewable sources is no less significant," he said.
Venkataraman pointed out the interest of American companies in the production of wind and solar energy. He also informed about the US support for the development of the Middle Transport Corridor, which will contribute to the expansion of trade cooperation and improve the living standards of the population.
"We support Azerbaijan and the countries of the region (along the corridor) in various projects and programs. We believe that the experience of US private companies in the field of logistics, transport, digitalization will contribute to the success of the Middle Corridor," Venkataraman said.
A delegation headed by the Assistant Secretary of Commerce of the United States has been in Azerbaijan since April 2. The day before, US representatives took part in the joint US-Azerbaijani Green Energy Forum. In addition, the American delegation held bilateral meetings with Azerbaijani officials.
Venkataraman will also visit Turkey, Armenia and Georgia as part of a tour of the region. –16C06-
