Traditional Exhibition-Conference Oil and Gas of the Caspian Sea-2019 Opened
Baku / 29.05.19 / Turan: The traditional international exhibition-conference "Oil and Gas of the Caspian Sea-2019", which is the largest such event of the energy sector in the region, opened today at the Baku Expo Center.
The exhibition-conference is held in Baku for the 26th time.
According to the Minister of Energy Parviz Shahbazov, this year 301 companies from 34 countries of the world participate in the event.
He stressed that along with the oil and gas sector, the exhibition also includes 13 companies engaged in the production of energy from alternative sources.
In addition, 500 delegates from 30 countries of the world participate in the conference to discuss issues of the development of the oil and gas sector.
The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev addressed the opening ceremony of the exhibition.
"Today, our country is known in the international arena as a reliable partner," he said.
Aliyev stressed that Azerbaijan honorably fulfilling its obligations has created favorable conditions for foreign investors.
Azerbaijan, he said, is implementing large-scale investment projects of global importance.
With the launch of the TAP gas pipeline, the largest Southern Gas Corridor infrastructure project will be fully commissioned.
"This will allow us to transport the saturated gas resources of Azerbaijan to Turkey and Europe along the shortest and safest route," said the head of state.
First Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Head of the Bureau of Energy Resources Kent Logsdon read out a welcome message from US President Donald Trump.
"Please accept my best wishes as you celebrate the 26th anniversary of the International Caspian Oil and Gas Exhibition.
Azerbaijan is more prosperous and connected to the global economy than at any time in its history. Oil and gas production from Azerbaijan continues to increase stability in world energy markets, including through the Southern Gas Corridor. Azerbaijan can play an even greater leadership role by partnering with other potential suppliers, such as Turkmenistan and countries in the Eastern Mediterranean. Now is the time to expand on your country"s success.
The United States supports your efforts to advance economic reforms that will attract foreign investment and spur innovation. The economic success of Azerbaijan will help bring stability to the entire region.
