Turkey and Azerbaijan plan to further develop cooperation in the media sphere
Baku/09.12.20/Turan: During the visit of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to Baku on Thursday, it is planned to sign a "Memorandum of Intent - on strategic cooperation between Turkey and Azerbaijan in the media sphere", the Communications Department of the Presidential Administration of Turkey told the “Anadolu”.
The document will be signed in the presence of Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev by the Head of the Communications Department of the Turkish Presidential Administration Fahrettin Altun and the Azerbaijani Presidential Aide, Head of the Foreign Policy Department Hikmet Hajiyev. In accordance with the Memorandum aimed at further strengthening ties between the two brotherly countries a Joint Media Platform will be created in the information sphere.
This platform will allow the media of the two countries to coordinate their policies on issues of importance to Turkey and Azerbaijan, which will increase the efficiency of the information flow. Within the framework of the Joint Media Platform, the official media bodies will share experiences and opportunities.
The platform will also make it possible to combat actively the flow of disinformation in the international arena and objectively inform the world about the realities of the two countries. Within 3 months after the entry into force of the Memorandum of Intent, a detailed plan of the Joint Media Platform will be prepared and submitted to the governing bodies. Representative of the Turkish Presidential Administration Fahrettin Altun noted the importance of the structure being created.
“Turkey and Azerbaijan will jointly fight the flow of lies in a critical period for the world community. During the struggle for the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh from occupation, we all again witnessed attempts to damage the image of Azerbaijan and Turkey. Therefore, joint actions in the information sphere are of vital importance,” said the head of the Liaison Office of the Turkish Leader's Administration. Aide to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev agreed with Altun's opinion.
According to him, Azerbaijan and Turkey at all times and under any conditions should closely interact, including in the media sphere, which will contribute to the interests of both countries.
Hajiyev noted the importance of the new Platform for promoting the position of the two brotherly states. — 0—
