Ukraine Denounces Illegitimate "Presidential Elections" in Karabakh, Reaffirms Support for Azerbaijan's Sovereignty
Kiev/09.09.23/Turan: In a stern statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, the country unequivocally condemned the purported "presidential elections" held on September 9 within the borders of Karabakh, a region situated in the Republic of Azerbaijan. The elections, deemed illegitimate by Ukraine, have been branded a stark violation of established international norms and principles.
These contested "presidential elections" have elicited global concern due to their blatant disregard for the foundational tenets of international law. Ukraine joins the chorus of voices in declaring the results of this electoral exercise null and void, reinforcing the global consensus that these proceedings lack any legal or moral validity.
Ukraine's firm stance on this matter reiterates its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan as defined by internationally recognized boundaries. The Ukrainian Government confirms the need to resolve the protracted Karabakh conflict exclusively through political and diplomatic means.—0—
