US Congress passes a resolution on arms supply to Ukraine
The US Congress (House of Representatives) on March 23 voted a resolution on arms supplies to Ukraine. The document addressed to Barack Obama is a recommendation.
For the document voted 348 lawmakers, and 48 opposed it.
The resolution calls for the head of state "to use the authority granted him by the Congress to provide Ukraine lethal defensive weapons."
The content of the document noted that an independent, democratic and prosperous Ukraine meets the US national interest. "The resolution authors, the Republican Ed Royce and Democrat Eliot Engel said that the weapons are necessary for the protection of the Ukrainian people.
