Violations of Human Rights in Azerbaijan to Be Discussed at European Parliament
The hearing on the situation of human rights and corruption in the Third World will be held August 31 at the European Parliament in Brussels. The hearing will be attended by the Coordinator of the campaign Sport for Human Rights, Rebecca Vincent. On this she wrote in her micro blog on Twitter.
The hearing will be attended by representatives of the EU Foreign Policy Service and the European Commission. Vincent believes the EU should more strictly demand Baku respect human rights.
Activists of the campaign Sport for Human Rights believe that despite the release of a number of political and civil society activists from March to May 2016, the situation has not changed much and new arrests have been made recently.
This followed the initiation of a referendum on amendments to the Constitution, reinforcing the powers of the head of state, by the President of Azerbaijan. -16D-
