What will discuss the participants of South Caucasus Forum?
More than 60 current and former heads of state governments, well-known politicians, as well as 400 experts from 70 countries will take part in the South Caucasus Forum in Baku on 7-8 May.
The meeting participants will discuss issues of democracy, inclusive and socially cohesive society, economic, social and political empowerment of women.
Forum is organized by the International Center of Nizami Ganjavi and the Club of Madrid.
Its main purpose is to share experience and vision with the members of the Club of Madrid authorities and other interested structures in Azerbaijan on the above issues.
Among the participants are: the President of Georgia, Mikhail Saakashvili, Queen Noor of Jordan, the head of the Senate of Jordan Tahir al-Masri, the former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak, the former head of the Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis, the Iranian human rights activist and Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, a special adviser to the UN Secretary General Nafis Sadik, former Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga, former President of Finland, Tarja Halonen, former UNESCO Director-General Federico Mayor, etc.
International Center of Nizami Ganjavi was established in 2012 as a non-profit, non-political organization promoting the heritage of Azerbaijan Nizami and Azerbaijani culture as a whole.
The Club of Madrid - an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of democracy and changes in the international community. It consists of 80 former presidents and prime ministers from 56 countries, and is the largest forum in the world of former heads of state and governments.—06D-

Shamshad Aga, editor of the "Argument.az" website, has been found guilty in the Meydan TV case of smuggling (Article 206.3.2 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to two months and one day in detention. The decision was made on February 6 by the Khatai District Court of Baku, as reported by Turan, citing his lawyer, Shahla Humbatova.
