Yadigar Sadigov Suddenly Returned from Hospital to Jail
The convicted deputy chairman of Musavat Yadigar Sadigov, who was treated at the hospital of the Ministry of Justice, was unexpectedly returned to Prison No 14, although the treatment was not completed. This is stated by the Public Committee for the Protection of Sadigov’s Rights.
He was placed in the prison hospital on January 31 with a diagnosis of heart block. Sadigov had to stay in hospital until the end of February.
The Public Committee for the Protection of Sadigov’s Rights called on the Prison Service to stop this "torture" and resume treatment in hospital.
"All responsibility for the state of Yadigar Sadigov falls on the Azerbaijani authorities," the statement says.
* In June 2013, Sadigov was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and sentenced to 6 years in prison. Subsequently, the Court of Appeal reduced the sentence to 4 years and the Supreme Court reduced it to 3.5 years.
Human rights organizations recognize him as a political prisoner.
At the time of his arrest Sadigov was advisor to the head of Musavat.
In September 2014 he was elected Vice-president of Musavat in absentia. -06B-
