46 Soldiers of Azerbaijan Died This Year
Baku / 05.12.19 / Turan: The day before, the captain of the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan Abbas Melikzadeh died of heart failure. The Ministry of Defense told Turan that the officer felt ill and turned to the medical unit. He was sent to the hospital, but died on the way.
In turn, the Khazar military research center reports that 46 people died before December 4 in the field of security and defense of the country.
9 soldiers died on the front line as a result of shelling from the Armenian side. 4 soldiers died from illnesses, and 3 - from accidents.
12 military personnel died for unknown reasons, 7 - in car accidents, and 4 - as a result of explosions on mines or shells.
Two died through negligence, and one as a result of hazing. Two committed suicide, and one died in a shootout with border violators.
Out of the total number, 24 were soldiers, 5 were warrant officers and sergeants, 12 were officers, and 5 were over-conscripts. 40 people were servicemen of the Ministry of Defense, and six belonged to the Border Services.
The Ministry of Defense did not give information about 28 dead, and the Border Service reported two of the six dead.
During the same period, 18 servicemen were injured. 5 as a result of shelling from the Armenian side, 8 - suffered from mine explosions, 4 - were injured in a shootout with border violators. One person was injured in unclear circumstances. -03D-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
