Afgan Sadigov transferred to "tubzone"
Baku/13.07.21/Turan: Founder and editor of the website Azel.tv Afgan Sadigov has been transferred from the colony to a specialized medical institution for tuberculosis patients, his wife Sevinj Sadygova said.
In her words, health conditions of Afghan has visibly deteriorated over 240 days of aversion to food. A serious fact is that there are spots in his lungs that covered this organ by 80%.
"Therefore, it was decided to transfer Afghan from the medical Institution of the penitentiary service to the specialized hospital № 3. He is under the supervision of the main medical department of the Ministry of Justice and is presently cured.
We met with Afghan through a glass partition; after the end of his hunger strike, he has already gained 7-8 kg in weight, "Sevinj Sadigova said.
* The head of Azel. TV Afgan Sadigov was arrested on extortion charges in May this year. On November 3, 2020, the court sentenced him to seven years of imprisonment. Since November 4, he has been on a hunger strike protesting against unfair sentence. On January 28, the Court of Appeal reduced the sentence to 6 years of imprisonment. Note that local human rights activists recognized him as a political prisoner.
On July 2, the Supreme Court of Azerbaijan partially satisfied the cassation appeal of Afgan Sadigov and reduced his sentence from 6 to 4 years of imprisonment. After that, he stopped the action by the agreement with his family members.—06D-
