Bakcell, The First Mobile Operator and Leading Mobile Internet Provider of Azerbaijan is pleased to announce that “Kvotter” and “Flapus” projects, being the participants of“AppLab” program took 1stand 2ndplace respectively, during the “Yeni Fikir 2016” (New Idea) competition,held by Qafqaz University (QU Technopark).
The aim of the “Yeni Fikir” competition is to support the development of innovative entrepreneurship. It stimulates entrepreneurship among youth, which leads to the quality improvement at scientific researches, as well as personnel training. “Yeni Fikir” plays a bridge role between enterprising youth and business world.

The aim of AppLab’s Kvotter project is to create a social network that will allow its users to share quotes they liked from books, magazines, websites and even digital devices. Using an ordinary camera, by texting or scanning photos, users can simply share the said information with their friends.
Flapus -AppLab’s another qualifier project, is an organizer for smartphones that allows users to send reminders to each other, as simple as texting messages. This program makes it easy for users to create tasks for themselves and send tasks to others to ensure that the recipient is reminded of the task at the appropriate time or location. Rather than expecting someone to put something on their to-do list, Flapus allows users to directly create tasks for others and to choose when or where to remind them about it.
AppLab is an accelerated execution framework to support selected developers to drive execution of ideas, mobile apps and technologies from proof of concept to launch at a regional level. Apart from supporting the developers by providing space and tools to develop and distribute mobile applications, Bakcell, in partnership with Wayra UK, provides the local developers an opportunity to present their ideas and receive investments.

About QUTechnopark
Qafqaz University began an innovation through QU Technopark that was set up in accordance with international principles. QU Technopark is well known for driving innovation across many levels of the education sector in Azerbaijan. At present, QUTechnopark is located on a dedicated area of nearly 1,000 m2 within Qafqaz University consisting of 20 different offices. Along with the Incubation Center, there are office premises in the QUTechnopark allocated to 11 companies, 5 of which work here for a long time already. At present, works are underwayfor the construction of a new building of technopark.

As part of the struggle against illegal migration in Baku city, operative actions were carried out at different addresses.
