At the trial of the former Ministry of Communications management
In the Baku Serious Crimes Court continued the trial on November 30 in the case of 11 former senior officials of Ministry of Communications and its subsidiaries. Today continued testimony of the former head of the Baku Telephone Network Baitullah Huseynov. He repeated that he had acted on the instructions of the authorities of the Ministry of Communications. Huseynov did not want to speak, therefore the testimonies of Huseynov were announced at the preliminary investigation.
Huseynov said that the volume of services and works over 2009-2015 years in his ministry were overestimated by 20-25% by the order of the Minister Ali Abbasov. At the end of each month, the chief accountant of the Baku network Anar Mustafayev conveyed to the Ministry the assigned funds. By the order of the Minister, reports about it were transferred to the head of the office Vidadi Zeynalov. Huseynov also noted that he monthly paid 1000 manat to Nadir, the classmate of the former Minister Abbasov.
For several years he passed to the employees of Taxes Ministry 11 million AZN, and one million was spent on the activities in connection with the European games. In addition, Huseynov gave 2 million manats to the Minister Abbasov, and 1.5 million manats to his deputy Iltimas Mammadov, who is now sitting in this position.
Every month 30.000 manat left for Huseynov, and in total he appropriated 2.5 million "left" manats.
Huseynov said that the business partners of the Baku Telephone Network were the firms of the brother-in-law of Abbasov and Zeynalov.
Another accused Anar Mustafayev showed that the investigation was biased and rejected the accusation that he was an "organizer" of illegal actions. "If the plan was drawn up by me, then why did I give Baitullah Huseynov and Vidadi Zeynalov 10 million manat, and left himself only 567,000 manats?
Allegedly every month I received in a package7.000 manat , and it is a lie. I was paid 2,000manat per month. We did not appropriate state property," said Mustafayev.
According to him, the company has repeatedly been audited, and confirmed that the accounting department works correctly. "I confess that every month I received additional funds, and I plead guilty," said Mustafayev. The trial is ongoing.-06D-

Amid the bustling scenes of this year’s COP29 climate conference, a protest against whaling and deep-sea mining, organized by a group calling itself the FINS Initiative, drew significant attention from delegates and observers. However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.
