Since 1 February sale and activation of mobile phone numbers in Azerbaijan will be provided by mobile operators in the online mode. This is stated in the press service of LLC Azercell Telecom in connection with the suspension of the sale of cellular phone numbers in commercial networks.
This measure has been taken in accordance with the instructions of the President and the Cabinet. The company notes that the sale was suspended on January 30 in connection with the transition to the new system, and the sale of phone numbers has been carried out on the new system since January 31.
The company asks to inquire about the new system of sales of phone numbers to the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies.
Other mobile operators have not commented on the transition to the new mode. -03D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
