Detained Journalists Released (UPDATED)
The three journalists working with Meydan TV, Sevinj Vaghifgyzy, Ayten Farhadova and Izolda Agayeva, who were detained last night, were released from the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (MDCOC) MIA at about 12:30.
Vaghifgyzy told Turan that despite the detention at 1:00 a.m., they were caused to give evidence only by noon today.
"We were interviewed by the deputy chief of the Investigation Department of the MDCOC MIA Murad Guliyev. The interrogation was conducted mainly on the events in Mingachevir and the activities of Meydan TV. We told him that we had already been interrogated on the same content in the Investigation Department on Grave Crimes of the General Prosecutor's Office. He told us that certain aspects of the investigation refer to the MDCOC. After giving the evidence we were released. Our personal belongings, money and journalistic equipment seized during the detention were returned to us," Vaghifgyzy said. -06D--

Three journalists working with online Meydan TV, Sevinj Vaghifgyzy, Ayten Ferhadova and Izolda Agayeva were detained at the Baku airport last night upon returning from training in Kiev. The colleagues of the journalists told Turan the guards announced the introduction of a ban on their entry and exit. After that the journalists were given to police and taken for questioning at the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (MDCOC) MIA. As of 10.30 on Sunday the journalists were in the MDCOC.
The same department also contains another journalist, who worked with Meydan TV, Shirin Abbasov, sentenced to 30 days of administrative arrest.
Earlier the MDCOC detained another journalist collaborating with Meydan TV, Aytaj Ahmedova.
In early September, all of the above journalists were also questioned at the Prosecutor' General's office. -06D--
