Eighteen activists of the Popular Front Party are dismissed from their jobs for participating in opposition rallies

Baku/06.05.17/Turan: Fourteen activists of the Popular Front Party lost their jobs after the opposition rally on April 8 in Baku. Another four party members said that they were dismissed for participating in a protest in September 2016. Only one of the opposition managed to recover at work through the court.

According to the deputy chairman of the Popular Front Party Gezal Bayramli, four out of eighteen dismissed for participation in the action in September 2016 are activists of the Gabala and Oguz regional organizations of the Popular Front Party Ilham Guliyev and Yashar Mammadov. They worked as teachers in schools, and Galandar Aslanov from the Goranboy regional organization of PFPA was an engineer.

The worst of all was the fate of Elnur Farajev from the Neftchala District Organization. He was a worker at the Azer-Yod LLC. In September, he was fired, and in December arrested, sentenced to 3 years imprisonment for a false accusation of drug trafficking.

For participation in the rally on April 8, teachers of secondary schools were dismissed: Aflatun Ahmadzade, Ulkar Ahmedzade, Lachin Askerli, Jalil Imanov and Miraga Musaev.

Ali Abdullayev - employee of the Gas Exporting Department, Aydin Isaly - the main operator at one of the enterprises of SOCAR, Ilkin Aliyev - a mechanic in "Azerigaz", Novruz Tagiyev - administrator in sports "Neftchi", Elkhan Nuriyev -driver in the company Azersu, Firdovsi Mammadov - sales manager at Sema LLC, Mohammed Alifov - security guard at SOCAR and Samir Hasanov - sales manager at Europe LLC, were also arrested.  He was fired after the rally on April 8 and Sahib Rustamli, but he managed to recover through the court.

Bayramli said,  the PFPA believes that all party activists were dismissed for political reasons.
