Five People Arrested on Case of Fire in 16-storey Building So Far
Four more people have been arrested on the case of the fire in the 16-storey building. The court arrested the CEO of the manufacturer of the facing material Global Stone Ugur Bashirov, the deputy chairman of Global Construction Alekper Askerov, and the head of the economic department of the executive branch of the Binagadi district of Baku Adalat Radjabov, who in 2012-2013 served as head of the housing and utilities association of the district.
According to the joint statement by Prosecutor General's Office, Interior Ministry and Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan, the arrested are charged under Article 225.2 (violation of fire safety requirements) and Article 308.2 (abuse of power) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.
Miryusif Mahmudov, whose company Global Construction did the facing work in the burned house, was arrested earlier. -06D--
