Former Chief of Flag Square Released (updated)
The prosecutor offered to release the convicted chief of the Office of State Flag Square Complex Rashad Mammadov, taking into account the time he had spent in custody.
This proposal was made by the state prosecutor today, during the hearing at the Baku Court of Grave Crimes chaired by Alovsat Abbasov. The court issued a verdict based on the proposal of the prosecutor and released the official in the courtroom.
Recall that Mammadov was arrested in the spring of 2015, along with two others, Arzu Mammadov and Isfendiyar Isfendiyarov.
R. Mammadov was charged for fraud and misappropriation as well as two others.
The prosecutor suggested taking into account the mitigating factors (compensation for the damage), commuting the sentence on R. Mammadov, A. Mammadov and Isfendiyarov and sentencing them to a year and a month in prison. Taking into account the past period of their actual detention (a year and a month), he offered to release them in the courtroom.
The defense asked the court to acquit the accused, the lawyer Akif Alizadeh told Turan.
The court passed a sentence condemning all the accused to 1 year 1 month imprisonment and release of all the three in the courtroom. -06D-
