Gold youth swept in Greece for 2 million euros
Baku / 10.14.19 / Turan: Television of Greece showed a report on the rest of Azerbaijanis on the island of Mykonos. The report says that young people lived in expensive villas on the island and paid 475,000 euros only for housing. At every step they were guarded by 12 bodyguards. Each of these guards received a daily salary of 700 euros.
Even the guards who defend the US President aren't paid that much per day. "Who are they, whose children are spending millions in Mykonos?" asks economics professor Gubad Ibadoglu on FB.
He calculated that the daily expenses of these nouveau riche in Greece are equal to the average pension of 875 people in Azerbaijan.
"Officials who turned their holidays into a glamorous lifestyle and fun Greek holidays in Mykonos spent 2 million euros on a 19-day vacation. This is an average of 105,226 euros per day, or an average salary of 335 people, or an average monthly pension of 875 people in Azerbaijan," Ibadoglu calculated.
According to one of the Azerbaijani websites, a talk show was shown on Greek TV that really talked about the revelry of Azerbaijani youth on the island of Mykonos. The same website links Greek television coverage with SOCAR officials. However, according to Turan, these were offspring of the heads of other ministries and departments. -0-
