Health of the arrested REAL member worsened
The health of the arrested activist of the "REAL" Movement Rahim Shaliev kept on the police detention center in the city of Sumgayit deteriorated. According to a lawyer Yalcin Imanov, the detainee suffers from severe headaches - a consequence of severe beatings by the police.
Shaliev was arrested on 20 February, and on the same day he was arrested for 30 days on administrative charges are not subordinate to the police. The lawyer said that after the arrest the young man was beaten repeatedly.
On the eve of him an "ambulance" was called for him. "The left side of the head above the temple is clearly visible a dent - the result of blows to the head. The doctors said they could only make cauterized, said Imanov.
On February 23 Shaliev was attended by representatives of the Ombudsman, who also saw the traces of beatings on the body of the activist.
Consideration of the appeal by Shalieva will continue on February 27 in the Sumgait city court. The lawyer hopes that the court along with not guilty activist will take into account the state of his health will release him.
On February 22 the lawyer filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office on the fact of torture.
The Head of Sumgait organization "REAL" Hafiz Babaly said that Shaliev was also visited by representatives of the National Preventive Mechanism for the Prevention of Torture.
