Baku/18.06.20/Turan: On the evening of June 17 near the village of Kurundj in the Jalilabad region, Azerbaijani border guards recorded a violation of the border by Iran by a group of armed men, reported the press service of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan on Thursday.
During the measures taken, the area of violation was blocked. Violators were ordered to stop, but they opened fire with automatic weapons.
In response, one of the violators was wounded and tried to escape back, but upon entering the border river Bolgarchay drowned. His body was raised by Iranian border guards. Other border violators were able to escape back, but were detained by Iranian border guards.
At the scene, a meeting of the border guards of Azerbaijan and Iran was held. -02D-
