Journalist Elchin Hasanov Called to Ministry of Internal Affairs OCD
The deputy editor of the newspaper Yukselish Namine (“In the name of revival”) issued in Sumgayit, Elchin Hasanov, today was called to the Main Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (OCD) MIA. Turan was told by the human rights activist Elchin Mammadov.
According to the same source, the journalist received a call from OCD and demanded to testify. However, the status, in which he is called, is not clear.
In April, he was detained on the Azerbaijani-Georgian border, when going through Tbilisi to leave for Strasbourg for the PACE session. Then he was detained and handed over to police.
After the journalist appealed to the Interior Ministry, he was told that the investigation was conducted by the Nizami Police Department of Baku under article 221.1 (hooliganism).
At the same time, the journalist was not informed on what basis and on whose complaint he was under investigation. -06D--
