Lawsuit against a known TV journalist stopped
Today the Yasamal District Court completed the consideration of the suit of the head of state television of Azerbaijan "Arif Alishanov against media expert, professor Gulu Maharramli.
At the meeting, the judge Azer Tagiyev announced the termination of criminal proceedings. According to Gulu Maharramli, the judge dismissed the case "due to the absence of the parties at the court hearing."
The reason for the lawsuit was the critical publications by Maharramli on state television in February last year. Maharramli explained the shortcomings by unprofessionalism of Alishanov. The latter demanded to condemn Maharramli on articles "insult" and "defamation", and demanded to recover from him 100,000 manat.-06D-

During the operation of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 5 members of an organized group engaged in drug trafficking were detained. All of them have previous convictions: Bahlul Ismayilov, Royal Aliyev, Khayal Aliyev, Samir Aghayev, and Ali Mammadli.
