On September 16 the journalist Shirin Abbasov, who works with the Internet resource Meydan TV, disappeared.
At 15 o'clock he went to classes at university and never returned. His phone is switched off and he does not contact with his family and colleagues, the reporter's colleagues at Meydan TV told Turan.
There is an assumption that Abbasov might have been abducted, as well as another journalist, Aytaj Ahmedova.
On September 16, at 16:00 Ahmedova was detained in the street, seated in a car and driven away by employees of the Office for Combating Organized Crime MIA. After hours of intimidation and efforts to make her stop opposition work and not to abuse the power, she was released.
It is possible that Shirin Abbasov is also there. The reporter was active while covering the trials of the human rights defenders Leila and Arif Yunus and the journalist Khadija Ismayilova.
Abbasov managed to shoot rare footage and the police was tracking him, trying to punish the reporter. -02D-
