Lawyer of Sardar Alibeili Urges to Justify Him
Today in the Khatai District Court at the trial of the editor of the PS. Nota paper and the www.psnota.com website Sardar Alibeili, the lawyer Samir Isayev spoke.
He asked the court to acquit the defendant because of the lack of proof of guilt of the journalist. Alibeili himself asked for time to prepare for the final word. The judge scheduled the next hearing for 10:30 a.m. on November 13.
Earlier, the prosecutor asked the court to declare Alibeili guilty under Article 221.3 (hooliganism committed with weapons or objects used as weapons), and to sentence him to 5.5 years in prison.
Alibeili was repeatedly subjected to criminal prosecution because of his critical and insulting publications.
Alibeili's colleagues believe this time the cause of his arrest was critical notes and a collage of the head of state Ilham Aliyev posted on Facebook, as well as the publication by the political refugee Isa Sadykhov. -16B06-

However, questions have arisen about the legitimacy of the group, as an internet search yields little evidence of its existence beyond scattered mentions.

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
