Lawyer: Problems Emerged with Fouad Ahmadli’s Health
"Fuad Ahmadli has got health problems." Turan was told by his lawyer Asabali Mustafayev after a meeting with his client at the detention center on December 13.
PFPA activist Fouad Ahmadli was arrested on 18 August this year. He is charged under articles 302 (violation of legislation on operative-search activity) and 308-1 (abuse of power).
In a joint statement, Prosecutor General's Office and the State Security Service said Fouad Ahmadli, working as an operator in the Call Center of LLC Azerfon, gave away personal information of the customers, printouts of calls and other private information. Ahmadli also was allegedly related to the Fethullah Gulen network. It is alleged that leaflets related to Gulen were found in his apartment.
According to the lawyer, his client has problems with the lungs and airways. Two years ago, he had surgery and should undergo regular screening.
The lawyer submitted two petitions to the investigation in connection with the health of the defendant, asking for the medical examination and proving the impossibility of holding him in custody. Ahmadli suffers from pains, and it is impossible to conduct any survey in the prison conditions, the lawyer said.
Another petition is related to the return of items seized during the search of Ahmadli’s house – his PC, his grandmother's pension card, and Fouad’s medical insurance documents. These documents do not have any relevance to the investigation. The investigation had sufficient time for surveying the belongings, the lawyer said. -05B04-
