The situation with COVID-19 in the country, the view of the former minister on the fighting in Tovuz on July 12-14, and Russian-Turkish relations on the background of the Karabakh conflict are the topics of today's media.
The website Redaktor.az cites the opinion of a doctor who claims that 2,500 people are infected with coronavirus every day in Azerbaijan. This is despite the fact that not all patients are registered. Doctor Adyl Geybulla believes that everything was left to chance after the first easing of the quarantine regime in late May. This led to a sharp increase in the infected.
The initial source of infection is the mass congestion of people and their non-compliance with the rules of behavior under quarantine. This also took place during the July 14 procession in Baku.
The doctor believes that if quarantine is eliminated, then people will not abide by the rules, although this must be done. At the same time, quarantine must be eliminated as people fall into depression and panic.
The website Moderator.az is discussing clashes in the Tovuz region on July 12-14 with the former Minister of Defense Safar Abiyev. He believes that three-day hostilities made it highly likely that large-scale hostilities would begin. However, the Azerbaijani army forced the enemy to retreat.
The question arises, if the Azerbaijani army is so strong, why, in this case, cannot it punish the aggressor? It seems that it's all about patrons (this is probably about Russia). If they depart, then the issue will be resolved, Abiyev said.
The Mətbuat.az website discusses Russian-Turkish relations with political scientists on the background of the Karabakh conflict. Political scientists believe that the Karabakh conflict could lead to a conflict between Turkey and Russia.
Now more than ever, the two countries have come closer and are cooperating in the military, economic and political fields. On the issue of Syria and Libya, Putin and Erdogan were able to come to a common denominator. The Karabakh issue may become a stumbling block; here they will not be able to avoid confrontation. Russia is trying to divert the attention of Turkey from Karabakh and solve this issue individually.
