Opposition proposes "road map" of measures to bring the country out of crisis
National Center for strategic thought (NCST) considers incapable Azerbaijani authorities to take the country out of a deep social and economic crisis. The appeal of the NCST to the people of Azerbaijan, noted that "Azerbaijan has become a hostage to the anti-people policies of the authorities, corruption and monopolies, incompetent management. Against the backdrop of falling oil prices, these defects have worsened. "
Half-hearted and inconsistent steps by the authorities are not able to take the country out of crisis. Attempts to borrowing from international financial institutions is recognition of the impotence of the authorities. Recent protests in the region have become consistent and massive expression of the social and economic demands. "The growth of the protests, and the transition of social and economic tensions in the socio-political is a matter of time," says the appeal.
The opposition provides only moral and political support to spontaneous protests, and information that indicates a lack of desire to take the situation to the chaos.
Therefore, the NCST offers a "road map" of measures to take the country out of crisis.
The main objective of these measures is protection of the population from the crisis, and creating conditions for free economic activity, and for the democratic forces - the realization of their potential. For the authorities it may be a chance of gradual and peaceful transfer of power to the people.
"Road map" offers a complex of urgent measures in the political, social and economic spheres. In particular, measures on social protection of the poor, the problem of unemployment, increase of salaries, the elimination of credit debts.
Formation of a free economy, the revival of small and medium business, agriculture and tourism.
In the political sphere is proposed release of political prisoners, human rights and freedoms, creation of equal conditions for the activities of civil society institutions. In foreign policy is offered a course for integration into Euro-Atlantic space, entry into NATO and the WTO.
It is proposed to set up a committee to prepare a draft of a new constitution, holding a spring referendum on a new Constitution or of amendments to the current Constitution.
In the second half of the year to hold new parliamentary elections in 2017, and early presidential elections. Discussion of the document will take place on February 6 at 15:00 at the headquarters of "Musavat". The NCST was created in late 2013 by a group of politicians and experts of the country. The NCST is headed by the ex-leader of the party "Musavat" Isa Gambar. -05D06-
