Pass examination marks in Baku State University (BSU) dropped
Today Pass examination marks in Baku State University (BSU) have been lowered from 25 to 17, just like it is in other universities, Turan was told by informed source at BSU.
Two years ago the BSU decided to tighten the conditions and examination marks were raised from 17 to 25 , which caused discontent of students, increased corruption and poor results. Lowering of pass marks at examinations was one of the demands of students during a protest on February 20.
(Examination mark is formed in two stages: first - during the semester and can reach a maximum of 50 points (now it will be minimum of 34 points), and the second - directly at exams at least 25 points.)
In addition, it was decided to evaluate the now-completed winter session as the level of 17 points, which means that the majority of students who failed exams, now will be considered as passed exams.
According to the same source, formerly rector literally demanded from teachers to low students’ marks.
Today deans entered the auditoriums and asked students whose parents are war veterans or invalids. It is not clear but why, but apparently for this category of students will be some indulgences. -02В-
