IV Games of Islamic Solidarity, the unemployment rate in the country, criticism of the government, provision of fruits and vegetables to Azerbaijan and Russia are the leading topics of today's press.

The newspaper Azerbaijan continues to write about the upcoming Games of Islamic Solidarity in Baku. These Games, the author believes, will serve the development of cultural and humanitarian ties with Muslim countries.

“We want the whole world to understand that Islam is a religion of peace,” the author quotes President Ilham Aliyev as saying.

Echo has published an article titled “There is an excess of labor in Azerbaijan, but people cannot find jobs.” In recent years, labor productivity has fallen in Azerbaijan. The reasons for this were the devaluation of the national currency, a reduction in oil revenues, and a drop in the incomes of the population.

There is a hope that the positive results of the reforms, especially in the agricultural sector, will be visible towards the summer. At the same time, there will always be a high level of unemployment in the country, given the demographic situation.

Today in Azerbaijan there are 150 people per 1 square km of territory. Compared to other countries, this is a high population density. There is an excess of workforce in the country.

The Yeni Musavat newspaper writes about Azerbaijan's opportunities to meet Russia's needs for fruits and vegetables. The opinions of experts differ significantly from the opinion of the officialdom. So, the import of fruits and vegetables into the country is estimated at almost 4 billion dollars. A total export of fruits and vegetables from Azerbaijan does not exceed 250-300 million dollars.

Azerbaijan will not be able to satisfy Russia's needs for fruits and vegetables, except for some separate region.  –0--
