Rain and Hail Caused Damage to Farms
Intense precipitation in the form of rain, hail and even snow fell on June 9 and on the night of June 10 in the number of regions of Azerbaijan.
According to local residents, heavy hail in the mountains of the Lesser Caucasus damaged gardens and vegetable gardens, especially in the Goygol district.
Heavy rains caused mudslides in the Ganja-Goygol region. Snow fell in the highlands.
The authorities have not yet reported on the extent of the damage caused by the natural disaster or on the measures taken.
In the Greater Caucasus mountains the precipitation was in the form of showers and hail. Snow fell in the mountains above 3 thousand meters high.
The precipitation raised the water level in mountain rivers.
The rainfall worsened the situation in the mountain areas, where landslides took place in the recent days (Ismayilli, Shamakhi), as well as on the route Baku-Shamakhi, where a section of the road was affected on the 106th km.
According to weather forecasts, the rainfall will continue until 13 June. -03B-

In the last two days, a "news" story appeared on TikTok about a whale spotted on Baku's seaside boulevard. The most "observant" users posted videos, commenting on the size of the animal. Later, other "witnesses" claimed it wasn't a whale, but a shark. Even later, a version emerged suggesting it was a submarine.
