Seven people arrested in Sumgayit due to armed incident
Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan made an official statement about the armed incident on December 11 in Sumgait .
According to a report, a conflict occurred on Wednesday at about 20:30 in the "Tea House" in the 10th district of the city Sumgait on the ground of religious differences between groups related to the religious movement "Khawarij" and "Salafi". As a result, residents Anar Rahimov and Elmar Mammadov were stabbed; later automatic weapons and grenades were used at the conflict.
The residents of the village of Taza Jorat, Elshan Musayev and Elnur Nazaraliyev, got fragmentation shell grenades. Bullets also touched the apartment and a car, but no one was hurt.
City Police and the prosecutor's office immediately after receiving the information about the incident arrived at the scene. Five members of an armed incident were detained. In addition, residents and Zaur Pashayev and Murad Maharramov were detained while trying to leave the country in different directions.
During the search of the apartment as a suspect wanted, Elchin Akperov, two grenades were identified.
The wounded Mammedli and Nazaraliev were placed in the hospital, and their condition is satisfactory.
A lawsuit was filed on the fact.
Investigative team of experienced professionals in the Interior Ministry and Prosecutor General's Office has been created for establishment and capture of other participants.—06D--
