State Border Service about the false documents of the arriving foreigners
Baku / 10/17/18 / Turan: On 7 October, Ahmed Mohammad Masum, born in 1998 and Moksu Mohammad Muminur, born in 1999, who arrived form Sharja , were detained because of presenting false passports. On October 8, Pakistani citizens Ashraf Muhammad, born in 1985, was detained at the state border checkpoint Shikhly: and Ahmed Bilal, born in 2003. Their passports contained fake Greek and Schengen visas. On October 9, a fake Canadian visa was found in the passport of an Indian citizen Gurpreet Singh, born in 1998, who flew to Istanbul.
On the same day, a fake Italian passport was revealed from an Iranian citizen, Abedi Iman, born in 1990, when trying to transit the flight Tehran-Baku-London.
On October 14, a fake passport was discovered at an Italian citizen Mshainesh Ahmad (born in 1961), who arrived from Sharjah. During a search, a Syrian passport belonging to another person was discovered. Appropriate measures were taken against the detainees, stated the message of the State Border Service of Azerbaijan. -16D-

On December 25, an Embraer 190 passenger plane operated by Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC (AZAL), on a Baku–Grozny flight, crashed near the city of Aktau in Kazakhstan. Azerbaijan’s Consul General in Aktau, Ayxan Suleymanlı, stated that the plane had 67 people onboard, including crew members, 38 of whom died. According to him, 26 of the deceased were Azerbaijani citizens.
