Suspects in the murder of the leader of the Georgian mafia deny the charges
Baku/09.07.23/Turan: Turkish law enforcement agencies continue to investigate the high-profile murder of Georgian mafia leader Revaz Lordkipanidze, widely known as "Rezo of Tbilisi". The incident occurred on January 15 in Trabzon, and the authorities are determined to unravel the complex web of circumstances related to the crime.
According to the Turan news agency, two people who had a history of participating in the struggle for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the early 1990s were arrested in connection with the murder. The suspects, identified as Nebo Khosrov Oglu Mustafayev and Redouane Andreevich Mustafayev, are currently being held in Sinjan Prison in Ankara.
The suspects, who are citizens of Kyrgyzstan, although facing charges of “planning and premeditated murder,” deny the charges, stating that Lordkipanidze's death was the result of calculations between the Georgian mafia and himself.
"The leader of the Georgian mafia and the group surrounding him are known for their hostility to Turkey. Both detainees deny the charges as suspects, emphasizing that they did not participate in the planning or execution of the murder of Lordkipanidze,” the agency source said.
The investigation is scheduled to be completed and sent to court in the fall. Correspondence is being conducted at the international level to obtain the testimony of other members of the Georgian mafia.-0—
