Tale Bagirzade ended his hunger strike on the 16th day
Baku/11.12.22/Turan: The leader of the Muslim Unity Movement (MUM) Tale Bagirzade stopped the hunger strike in colony n 12 for the 16th day. As Turan was told in the MUM, Bagirzade made this decision in connection with the serious health problems that have arisen in recent days, as well as the cessation of pressure on him in the colony. At the same time, as emphasized in the MUM, he "will continue to focus on problems in prisons, and in particular the issues of insulting and humiliating prisoners." The MUM also stressed that Bagirzade asked to convey his gratitude to the political and public organizations in Azerbaijan that supported him during the hunger strike, as well as to Muslim structures and theologians abroad.
* Bagirzade went on a hunger strike on November 26, after he was transferred from the Gobustan prison to colony n 12 and immediately subjected to insults from the deputy head of the institution.
** In 2015, Bagirzade was arrested during a special operation in Nardaran and sentenced to 20 years in prison on charges of terrorism, an attempt to change the constitutional order, the creation of an illegal armed group, etc. He was recognized as a political prisoner.-03B06-
