The astronomical prices for the referendum campaign in the media
In connection with the referendum on constitutional amendments to be held on September 2 a number of media appealed to the CEC to publish campaign materials fee. According to the CEC, among them are the "Report" agency, "Trend", "APA", 1news, the newspaper "Azerbaijan", "Yeni Azerbaijan", "Baku Worker", "Xalq", "I-525", "Iki Sahil" and others. From the TV channels: ITV, Lider, "Xazar" and "Azad Azerbaijan".
These are the prices for advertising time, which are attached to this post. So, on the Public TV(ITV) from 11:50 to 16: 50 of one second campaign - 20-24 manat, from 16:50 to 17:30 - 30 manat, from 17:30 to 18: 40- 35, C18: 40- until 20:20 - 50 manat.
The prices on the LiderTV are higher: from 07: 00 to 18:00 - 80 manats per second, and from 18:00 to 24:00 - 160 manat. On Sundays, this amount increased to 100-200 manats per second. On "Khazar TV» 20:30 to 23:30 want ad for 40 second manats. Five minute speech from 12:00 to 14:00 on that channel will cost 3,000 manats; till 16: 00- 3500 manats; till 19:00 - 5,000 manat, till 20:30 – 8.000 manat.
On the ATV 30 seconds will cost the agitator 1200-1980 manats depending on the time. Commenting on these fees, a lawyer in the field of media Alasgar Mammadli called them "astronomical and unaffordable."
The ITV which is funded from the budget cannot demand 50 AZN per second. This means – 180.000 per hour. The same applies to prices on other channels. These prices are not applicable to the nation-wide referendum, and have a commercial nature. They express not social, but commercial interests, said Mammadli. -05В-

Last night, three earthquakes occurred along the Armenia-Azerbaijan border with magnitudes of 4.8, 3.0, and 3.8, according to the Republican Center for Seismological Service of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan. The Ministry of Emergency Situations reported no information about any destruction or casualties as a result of the earthquakes.
