The Court of Appeal did not satisfy the complaint of the former investigator
Baku / 19.03.18 / Turan: The Baku Court of Appeal (BCA) did not satisfy the complaint of RufatSafarov, the former investigator of the Zardobregional prosecutor's office.
The complaint was filed against the decision of the Khazar District Court, which in turn rejected Safarov's complaint about the refusal of the Khazar Prosecutor's Office to torture him over the former investigator in colony No. 9.
During the hearing of the appeal court, Safarov said that in September 2017 he was tortured in jail N 9.He asked the appellate court to summon and interrogate, as witnesses, the staff of the ombudsman's office, the International Committee of the Red Cross, who visited him then in the jail and saw traces of violence on his body.
However, the judge of BCA ,GadimBabayev, rejected both the petition and the appeal itself.Safarov's relatives said that a decision will be filed with the European Court of Human Rights.
* R. Safarov was an investigator of the Zardab regional prosecutor's office. December 20, 2015, he made a statement on lawlessness in law enforcement and resigned.
In late December of the same year, a criminal case was launched against Safarov on charges of taking bribes. In September 2016, the Lankaran Court for Serious Crimes condemned Safarov for 9 years of imprisonment.
RufatSafarov is the son of a former deputy from Yeni Azerbaijan Party, and former head of the press service of the Defense Ministry,Eldar Sabiroglu.-05B06-
