The deputy director of the school wants to sue the journalist for the video about the election

Baku / 26.05.19/Turan:, A preparatory meeting was held today in the Binagadi district court chaired by Emil Aliyev at the suit of the deputy director of school number 251 Elmira Alandarova against journalist Sevinj Vagifgyzy (Abbasova).

The reason for the suit was the preparation by the journalist of a video of presidential election on April 11, 2018 at polling station number 25 of Nizami's second electoral district.

This site was located in the building of the specified school.

The plaintiff believes that the journalist insulted her honor and dignity.

They require the removal of material from the sites of MeydanTV, the Azadlig newspaper, the bringing of an apology to the journalist and the collection of 2,500 manat from her for compensation of "moral damage".

The meeting was scheduled for 10.00. However, when the journalist entered the court, the judge stated that the case had already been reviewed without her participation, since she had not appeared.

Vagifgyzy said that she was in the corridor of the court and waited for her to be called.

The trial is scheduled for June 10th.

Vagifgizi reported that a year ago Alandarova had already complained to her at the Baku prosecutor's office and requested to start a criminal case against her.

However, due to the absence of corpus delicti in her actions, the case was not opened.

"She considers humiliation of honor and dignity to have effects during installation, for example, an accelerated flow of personnel. I watched the woman act, saw her lead the teachers to the polling station, and asked for the reasons for this. I was forced to wait an hour, they did not allow shooting. Although it, (prohibition of filming) is not legal. Then they drew up a statement that I allegedly made a noise, violated the voting process. However, under the act of signing the same. Allegedly, the voter objected to his filming. However, the "signature" by voters was the same with the signature of the chairman of the precinct election commission," said Vagifgyzy.

She said she would submit her evidence; the defense would file a petition.

"I do not intend to pay any compensation. This video from Meydan TV will not be removed. I will not apologize. My observations and opinions of the observers there allow us to talk about this (violations)," said Vagifgyzy.

On April 11, 2018, an extraordinary presidential election was held in Azerbaijan, after which Ilham Aliyev was declared the country's president for the fourth time.

The OSCE/ODIHR Observation Mission in the final report noted widespread violations of voting rules, lack of transparency, ballot stuffing, etc. - 16B06--
